La “Suite” (seconda parte: classico e moderno)

Dopo Bach è da ricordare Haydn le cui prime sonate per pianoforte ricordano ancora, pur strutturate in maniera diversa, lo stile delle Suite, certamente sia Haydn che Mozart composero in forma di Suite diversi brani per più strumenti che però vollero “mimetizzare” nei loro “Divertimenti” o nelle “Cassazioni”, composizioni per serate all’aperto ed inoltre scrissero su commissione danze destinate specificamente al ballo da eseguirsi alle feste di corte.
Anche Beethoven nei suoi anni giovanili scrisse “alemanne” e “minuetti” ma nella seconda metà del settecento la “suite” vera e propria era destinata a decadere in favore della sonata “bitematica e tripartita” definita poi “sonata classica”.
Dopo un periodo di silenzio, la Suite riapparve in Europa sotto la spinta della caratterizzazione “esotica” o “nazionale” : per orchestra si segnala “La Suite araba” di Granados e la “Suite algerina” di Saint-Saens.
Anche Debussy avvalendosi della una raffinata ispirazione melodica scrisse alcune Suite per pianoforte “la Suite bergamasche” , “Pour le piano” e per pianoforte a quattro mani “la Petite suite”.
Altri importati autori si cimentarono con la suite, fra questi Bela Bartok, Prokofiev … e poi molti compositori dell’ottocento e novecento scrissero balletti e brani per opere teatrali in forma di suite e fra questi ricordiamo Ciaikowski, Rimski-Korsakov, Faurè. Strawinski. Fra gli italiano Ottorino Respighi e Ferruccio Busoni, mentre fra i tedeschi Paul Hindemith e Max Reger.
Non da meno si interessarono alla Suite anche gli autori della seconda Scuola di Vienna : Schoenberg (op 25 per pianoforte) e pure A.Berg che in un suo quartetto d’archi (Suite lirica) vi applicò i principi della composizione seriale dodecafonica.
